Send snowed-in, over-worked colleagues a reminder to liven up their lunch

2014 Ciabatta Sommecard

February 05, 2014

DUBLIN, Ohio – Whether it’s lousy winter weather or a devilish deadline, too many workers stay deskbound at lunchtime – or skip lunch altogether. As workers trudge back to the office amidst winter weather conditions, Wendy’s® urges them not to take shelter with the all-too-familiar lunch habits.

Recent surveys reveal as many as 2/3 of workers eat at their desks – or not at all – for lunch. And a 2013 study* found that employees who work through lunch feel more stress and are less productive than those who take a break.

Enough, already. Change your ways, North America. Here’s how – with a boost from Wendy’s new savory sandwich—the Ciabatta Bacon Cheeseburger.

Send a humorous “lunch intervention”-themed e-card to any colleagues who are serial at-desk eaters. Wendy’s – in partnership with Someecards® – is releasing 20 e-cards asking consumers to reconsider their boring lunch choices and go for something livelier, like Wendy’s new Ciabatta Bacon Cheeseburger. An early “lunch intervention” e-card favorite: I can see by the crumbs on your keyboard that you don’t get out much.

For a limited time, those who heed the advice can enjoy from participating Wendy’s its new Ciabatta Bacon Cheeseburger, which features Mediterranean-inspired ingredients like tangy, creamy rosemary garlic aioli and sweet, mildly tart, roasted chopped tomatoes on a hot quarter-pound patty of fresh, never-frozen North American beef**. A spring mix made from nine different greens, naturally aged Asiago cheese and Applewood Smoked bacon round out this perfect combination of contrasting flavors and textures, nestled between toasted authentic ciabatta bread.

So, get to work on your harried friends and visit www.Wendys.com/Ecards through early March. Five of the e-cards will be available in Spanish.
